After 32 years in the Los Angeles Fire Department, Assistant Chief Craig Fry had retired only to find that he wasn’t ready to stop. Soon after retirement, he received calls from many who knew him as "The Chief" and needed help with various issues regarding City matters.

While working to help accomplish what was needed, Craig realized there were more people out there that needed guidance on building code: a code he helped develop throughout his tenure in the LAFD. Seeing a need for this type of consulting, he decided to open a business that would focus on a field that he knew well.
After working solo for a few months, Craig realized he would need help to handle the workload, and In 2013, Craig Fry & Associates was established — a small safety consulting firm based in Pasadena that Craig operates with his son, Brian.

At first focusing on safety and fire-related matters, Craig Fry & Associates soon after transformed into a general development consulting firm, expanding into taking single-family homes from start to finish through the permitting process as well as commercial and large-development projects through the entire entitlement processes.
Craig Fry & Associates has stayed on the forefront of ever-changing laws and ordinances, and now specializes in regulatory compliance in multiple fields, including the burgeoning cannabis industry.
